How Much Does Invisalign® Cost in the US?

If you wanted straight teeth years ago, pretty much your only option were metal braces. While metal braces are still popular, there are now other options for those who want straighter teeth without a mouthful of metal.

One of the most popular options to come along in recent years in Invisalign. These are clear, removable aligners (similar to a teeth whitening tray) that are put in the mouth and used to straighten teeth. People like them because there are clear so they are not nearly as noticeable as metal braces. Many also like the fact that they are removable. So they can be removed before meals, brushing your teeth or other situations where wearing them may be inconvenient.

But what about costs? One of the biggest concerns people have when it comes to any cosmetic dentistry treatment is the price tag. Let’s take a look at what Invisalign costs (on average) and what factors affect that cost.

In the United States, you can figure on Invisalign costing around $5000 or so on average. While that figure is a good average to keep in mind, the amount you could end up paying for Invisalign will depend on a number of factors. It could be as low as $3500 on the low end to around $8000 on the high end. (These costs, by the way, run slightly higher than traditional metal braces.)

There are a few factors that will largely determine when end of the cost spectrum you’re on. One main factor is where in the county you live. If you live in a bigger city, you can expect to pay more than if you live in a less populated area. Also, the condition of your teeth is a major factor in how much Invisalign will cost you.

What you end up paying will depend largely on where in the country you’re located and how much your teeth resemble Austin Powers. If you have orthodontic insurance coverage, check to see if some of your treatment may be covered. The more your teeth need to be straightened, the higher the cost likely will be.
